Russell Tovey is an actor, best known for his roles in The Pass (2016), Looking (2014) and Being Human (2008).

Biography[]

Tovey was born on November 14, 1981 in Essex, England.

Tovey began his career as a child actor. He attended Shenfield High School where he was taught drama by Ralph Morse.

In 2004, he originated the role of Rudge in Alan Bennett's play The History Boys at the National Theatre as well as touring to Broadway, Sydney, Wellington and Hong Kong and playing the role on radio and film adaptations.

In 2007, Tovey had a recurring role in BBC Three comedy Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive, playing Rob's gay producer, Ben. In the same year he made guest appearances in BBC Three comedy Gavin & Stacey, playing Budgie, a friend of Gavin and Smithy's.

In 2008, Tovey played the role of werewolf George, one of three supernatural housemates in the comedy drama Being Human. The pilot premiered on BBC Three with the first episode broadcasted in January 2009. Later, Tovey appeared on stage in The Sea at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket and also guest starred as the boyfriend of a drug dealer and suspected arms dealer in the fifth episode of the first series of Ashes to Ashes. In 2010, Tovey starred as the main character of Steve in the BBC Three show Him & Her.

In 2013, Tovey signed on to appear in the American television series Looking. Its 8-episode first season broadcasted on HBO in 2014. Tovey was later promoted to series regular for the second season.

In 2016, Tovey was cast in the series regular role of CIA recruit, Harry Doyle on the ABC thriller series Quantico.
